aeginaThe single Dorca column on cape Kolona nearby is all that remains of the Temple of Aphrodite that formerly stood there. Aegina Town, on the west coast, is the island's charming and bustling, main capital and port. Its harbor is lined with colorful caiques and several of the town's crumbling neoclassic buildings survives from its days as the Greek capital. North of Aegina Town in Livadi is the house where Nikos Kazantzakis wrote Zorba the Greek.

DokosDokos Island, mountainous (300m) and massive, partially closes the bay of Hydra to the South-west. Its coast is steep almost everywhere near the eastern entrance point of Skindos Bay, to the north of the island, that offers several possibilities of anchorage. Dokos is inhabited by a couple of families and it has one of the best little gulfs for stopping for a swim. Little known, Dokos harbours Early Hellenic II ruins and the resting place of the oldest known shipwreck (1500 B.C.), discovered by Cousteau, in an enchanting bay -great snorkeling!

EpidavrosAmidst the blue of the Saronic Gulf, well protected on its own smaller gulf of Epidavros, with the scent from the valley's orange blossoms meeting the sea breeze in its picturesque and friendly port, with pine trees descending its slopes to offer their shade to its beautiful beaches, Ancient Epidavros, traditional yet modern, both tranquil and cosmopolitan, is always ready to welcome travellers whatever the season.

KyparissiIn the Southeast of the Peloponnese, on the coast of Arcadia and near the border with Lakonia is Leonidio, a town renowned for its natural beauty and its agricultural products. This is the land of the Tsakonians, an ancient tribe whose dialect has been compared to Doric. The characteristic architecture of Leonidio rests among steep mountains. East of the town, the valley extends to the coastline.

MonemvasiaIt was 2000 years ago when people built up a town at the top of a 300 meter rock so as to get protection against the barbarians. This is how a town developed and thrived in the southeastern side of Peloponnese , known as the " Gibraltar of East " : Monemvasia The name Monemvasia means in Hellenic :" Solitary Entrance " and it was given to the fort because there was only one way someone could enter it by land ; Monemvasia's rock with it's castle is an island in the middle of the sea and it is accessible only through a solitary entrance which many years ago used to be a portable , wooden bridge.

NafplioNafplio is considered to be one of the most picturesque and "aristocratic" towns of modern Greece. Nafplio was the first capital of the Modern Greek state (until 1834), and the influence of the western culture is very obvious in the old town which remebles a lot to traditional cities of Central Europe.
